Details
Details
Leotak is a form of Colas bitumen designed to provide fantastic adhesion between existing road surfaces and bituminous overlays. Once poured over a surface, it forms a thin, extremely sticky layer even if the road is damp.
This form of coating is strongly recommended when it comes to works such as overlaying, patching or conducting inlaid work. It can be applied cold and is supplied in a convenient, cost-effective 25 kg drum.
Where to Use Leotak
- Before overlaying with hot-rolled asphalt
- Patching road surfaces, footpaths and car parks
- Carrying out inlaid work
How to Apply Leotak
Leotak can be applied either by spray or by hand at a thickness of between 0.3 and 0.6 L/m² to suit the surface in question. You should always aim to achieve the thinnest film possible. Make sure to keep any vehicles off the surface until it has changed colour from brown to black, signifying it’s fully set and the overlay should then be applied.
What is Leotak?
Created by Colas, Leotak is a very thin form of bitumen designed to act as a surface-preparing agent, helping to form a bond between the original road surface and the new layer of asphalt or macadam as well as aiding in the process of patching or inlaid work.
Thanks to the minds at Colas, bitumen-based Leotak can form a strong surface even in damp conditions, making it dependable and versatile.
What is Emulsion Bitumen?
Bitumen emulsion is formed of a mix of water, bitumen and an emulsifier. It’s created to seal road and pavement surfaces in order to prolong their lifespans.
