Thermoplastic Anti-Skid Carpet

Only One Visit

Resin cannot be laid onto green tarmac. The tarmac must be at least two weeks old. The traffic management set up would have to be removed and re-set up at a later stage (see associated costs below)

Thermoplastic can be applied directly to green tarmac. No second visit required.

Ease of Use

The two part resin needs mixing together which activates. This can be a messy process.

The thermoplastic carpet is ready to apply. No preparatory work needed.

Easy to Apply

The resin needs spreading onto the tarmac and the anti-skid grit spread on top. This is also a messy process.

The thermoplastic is simply laid onto the tarmac and torched on.

Quick to Apply

Large areas of resin can take a while to apply

Consistent Product

Depending on the installer the resin anti-skid can vary in quality.

The thermoplastic is the same consistency regardless of the installer.

Zero Waste

Left over resin goes off and cannot be used again. The left over waste has to be disposed of properly.

Thermoplastic is cut to fit the patch. Any off cuts can be re-used again.

Not Weather Dependent

Resin cannot be applied in wet weather and drying times can be affected by damp conditions

Thermoplastic can be applied in any conditions.

Zero Loss of Aggregate

Resin will lose its aggregate over time.

Thermoplastic carpets have the aggregate impregnated meaning it will keep its anti-skid properties.

No Down Time

Once applied resin should be left to dry for 2-3 hours (Potentially longer in damp conditions)

Once applied thermoplastic is driveable in 20mins.
